Congratulations to Megan DeVore, Ally Douglas, and Deanna Taylor for winning the Water District PSA competition. For anybody that doesn't know Warren County, Barren County, and Simpson County water district companies proposed an idea that it would be a competition for schools to make a water district PSA. Several schools submitted more than one PSA and with only one submitted, South Warren Middle School won their Water District PSA! It will be shown on WBKO as a normal commercial and these students were recognized at South Warren Tuesday for the hard work they put in. There was also a $100 prize. Congratulation again to those three students!! They are a huge asset to our school and with everything they do, they show greatness. I am proud to work with them in the class every day and say that everything they do is the quality that the PSA was! They put in 110% and give their all to go above and beyond with any project they have. Keep up the great work Megan, Ally, and Deanna!
This week of school is coming to a close, just like so many of the weeks before it. We are on a countdown!! A countdown to what you say?? A countdown to testing!!! We have one full week left before South Warren will be hit with a testing frenzy. Starting with the KPrep from May 7th-11th the mornings will be crammed full of tests, with studying in the afternoon. The tests will cover all different subjects and these scores that will come out next fall will tell people how good your school is. We have to be sure to do our best!! Our teachers have been preparing us for this all year and it is time to show them we listened and we know what we are doing. If that overwhelms you, then you're in for a surprise! That isn't all the testing because we still have finals and quarter exams. The 17th of May, which is the very next week after KPrep and also the 18th of May any 8th grader taking Biology will have their end of the year final online. This will cover anything they've learned in Biology and to prepare these 8th graders Coach Steelman has posted the vocabulary and study guides on his website. The reward to making an A on this test is also not having to take the quarter finals in his class. Study hard and good luck to those 8th graders!! Now we still aren't finished so if that didn't pertain to you hang on!! The next week is not only the last week of school, but it'd important for testing. We are not only going to get to have a Fun Day that Monday, which is May the 21st, but we have testing May 23rd and 24th, which are the Thursday and Friday of that week. This testing will be quarter finals in all of your classes. A mix of everything you've learned in each class and your teachers know you can handle it!! So make sure you study hard the next few weeks for all of these, because it pays off when you will have good grades and a good summer to go along with happy parents. Who knows, it may even help you in the long run, and don't slack because we know every student here can ace these tests. So no matter if its Language, Science, Biology, Tech Ed, Art, FCS, P.E., Music, 7th grade math, Pre- Algebra, Algebra 1, Geometry, History or any other class you may have take it seriously, be prepared, and study hard!! :)
